The Game

You already know that KANGARILA is the revolutionary golf game where the specially-printed KANGARILA balls act like a dice to determine what club you have to play your next shot with. You know that it involves luck and tactics and that it broadens your golfing skills. You also know that even though it's incrediby good fun, it needs a set of rules so everyone knows how to play! So, here follow the KANGARILA rules:

KANGARILA® RULES

Each player carries only five clubs:

WOOD   -  any 1-5 wood

WEDGE -  any including pitching, sand or lob

    '3'       -  any long/mid iron or hybrid (1-5)

    '7'       -  any short/mid iron (6-9)

PUTTER

Before teeing off at the first, each player must select one of their five clubs to be their 'superclub' for the whole round.

At each hole, each player tees off as usual with a free choice of clubs (from the five carried), using their KANGARILA golf ball.

Before playing the next shot, each player examines the lie of their ball, with the top of your ball determining what club you must play next:

IF THE TOP OF YOUR BALL LANDS:

  • in the WOOD area, you play your wood
  • in the WEDGE area, play your wedge
  • in the 3 area, play your '3'
  • in the 7 area, play your ‘7'
  • in the P area, play your putter
  • in the blank area, play your 'superclub'
  • in the KANGARILA logo area, you have ‘KANGARILA’, meaning a free choice of clubs for each shot until you reach the green, ignoring subsequent lies of your ball
  • Each subsequent shot takes place in the same way, with the top of your ball at each shot determining the club to be used.

Once you are on the green, use your putter.

ADDITIONAL RULES:

  • Each player uses a KANGARILA golf ball which is a different colour to those of their opponents.
  • If a ball is dropped, it is the lie of the ball after dropping it that determines the next club to be used.
  • The top of the ball is determined by standing directly over the ball and looking straight down on it.
  • If the top of the ball falls at the border of two areas, the area nearer the hole is the area which counts, but if two areas are equally close to the hole, the one to the right (as you stand behind the ball, facing the hole) is the area which counts.
  • The general rules, etiquette and scoring of the game are exactly as you would normally play.
